The bright lights lining every house in the neighborhood, the stockings hanging above the mantle, and that fresh scent of pine hitting your nose as you enter the house are all signs that the holidays are approaching. And with the holidays come the age-old struggle of fetching a Christmas tree to decorate your house for the month of December. There is no mistaking that the holidays are filled with joy for all, however, not everything about the holiday season is all candy canes and glitter. The struggle of picking out gifts for the family, wrapping presents, and of course the hassle of getting a Christmas tree.
Christmas tree prices have skyrocketed over the years, reaching well into the hundreds for a single tree. This can be quite a problem for many who already struggle with making ends meet during the holiday season. For this reason, many families have begun to switch to a more affordable and long-lasting alternative: fake trees.
Fake Christmas trees have become more popular over recent years as the prices for real trees have risen. They are a cheaper option, and they last for many years, as opposed to a real tree, which has to be disposed of after the holiday season ends. Not to mention the maintenance of keeping a real tree as they have to be watered, and the pines can cause quite a mess.
That being said, real trees are by no means bad. There is no replacing the lovely smell of pine that real trees give off. Plus fake trees can rarely replicate the look of a real tree and can often look and feel, well, fake.
A real tree is also just tradition. Is it truly Christmas without a real tree standing in your house? Well, yes, it is still Christmas no matter what kind of tree you have in your home. Who knows, someone may use a palm tree instead or no tree at all. The holidays are less about what kind of tree you have in your home and more about how you choose to enjoy yourself. If you don’t enjoy having a tree, then don’t!
