Do you have a favorite TV show you watched as a kid? There are hundreds out there, whether they’re from Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, or PBS kids. The Chamblee Blue & Gold composed a list of the 64 most popular children’s shows during the childhood of current high schoolers. Through a bracket-style Google Form tournament, we narrowed the list of childhood favorites down to an elite eight:
- Dinosaur Train—2.4% of votes
- Wild Kratts—29.3% of votes
- Tom and Jerry—12.2% of votes
- Clifford the Big Red Dog—0% of votes
- Jessie—19.5% of votes
- The Magic School Bus—4.9% of votes
- Ninjago—22% of votes
- Scooby Doo—9.8% of votes
We narrowed down this elite eight group to the top favorite kid’s TV show based on the opinions of Chamblee students. Wild Kratts won with 29.3% of the votes overall.
“Wild Kratts [was my favorite TV show] because it’s really entertaining and super informative. The two guys, Chris and Martin Kratt, are super cool,” said Sadie Schroder (‘24).
Wild Kratts is a kids’ TV show about two brothers and their friends traveling the world, saving animals from either getting injured or killed by their enemies who want to use the animals for their own benefit.
Not everyone agrees with this opinion though as there were many differing opinions about students’ favorite TV shows, including some very strong opinions about which were the best and which were the worst. In second place was Jessie, with 19.5% of the elite eight votes, but not everyone was a big fan of it.
“Jessie [is my least favorite] because I personally haven’t watched that show. I wasn’t really a big Disney kid,” said Gia Choy (‘26).
Other Chamblee students agreed with this opinion and felt like Jessie didn’t belong in the elite eight.
“Jessie [is my least favorite show on the list]. The theme song sucked. The plot was not good either,” said Karthikeya Vishwanatham (‘26).
While a few of the other shows also didn’t get many votes on the Google Form, they are beloved by some students.
“Scooby Doo [was my favorite] because it was kind of my childhood. My sister and I would always wake up really early in the mornings to watch it,” said Choy.
Scooby Doo is a show about a group of four teenagers and their dog solving crimes.
“Tom and Jerry is [my favorite]. It’s just a classic. What do you think of when you think of cartoons? You think of Tom and Jerry for sure,” said Dani Singapuri (‘26).
Tom and Jerry is a cartoon about a cat and a mouse who are frenemies.
“The Magic School Bus [was my favorite TV show] because I learned a lot from it, and it was a really big part of my childhood,” said Sean Ziegler (‘26).
The Magic School Bus is about a class of elementary school students who go on adventures with their teacher in their school bus that possesses magical powers, such as flying.
“Ninjago [was my favorite childhood show]. I watched it a lot when I was growing up, and it really connects to my personality,” said Ben Amaya (‘25).
The winner has been chosen, but that won’t change anyone’s personal favorite kids’ TV shows. Wild Kratts officially earned the title of being Chamblee students’ favorite childhood TV show.
