Entering my senior year, I was restless. I knew that the fall semester was not going to be easy and it sure isn’t. From applying to colleges, taking the SAT or ACT, to simply doing Calc work, everything is overwhelming. Surely, I thought, there has to be something to make up for all the stressful things going on. My first last. Or my last first?
I know, cringe or whatever, but truly it is one of the things that is keeping me motivated.
One positive thing about this school year is that I have my closest friends in my classes which is something that hasn’t happened since freshman year. I love spending time with them and joking around with them. In addition to this, I was able to participate in a senior activity, which was bringing a children’s bookbag. Coincidentally, my best friend and I bought the same bookbag and only found out the day before school started!
My first last event of senior year was my last first day of high school. I don’t get sentimental or sad so this felt like a regular first day of school. Two weeks from this was my last first football game. Although our football team took the L, I was still hyped about the overall football game procedures. Being in the marching band is a plus when it comes to football games. Not only do I get to see the game for free but I get to do what I love. I was extremely excited for this game. I was ready to play in the stands and to play my halftime show. Nothing ruined the moment for me. The whole night was unreal and I enjoyed it to the maximum.
So far these have been my memorable first lasts, but I have a feeling there is still more to come. A personal goal of mine is to join and do more activities that I have probably missed the last three years and enjoy senior year. Although I am overwhelmed overall, I am looking forward to what else this year has to bring.
