“Finally finished with all my homework. I don’t know what I learned but I know I’m done learning!” That’s how I feel about finally getting to senior year, but we all know that the struggles aren’t done yet and a lot of things are still to be done this year! Especially if you’re trying to go to college. College applications are something I have been fearing for the longest and to be completely honest I haven’t even started the process yet. Nonetheless I know not all of us are going to college. Many might go straight to the workforce or join the military and that’s great!
However, today I want to talk about us seniors as one! We have finally made it to senior year! Anyways I don’t plan on giving a motivational speech, I wanted to talk about our future as adults. Many haven’t thought far ahead but I have such a fear of getting older so I tend to overthink. I start thinking: what will I do five years from now? 10 or even 20 years from now? What will our future look like outside of school?
I know many of us are happy that school is almost over for us but many are also kind of sad school is coming to an end. Even though some will be going to college our lives will never be the same because we won’t be going to school. We will no longer be 18. Our parents may not worry too much about us because we will be considered adults. College is different from high school, I have many friends who are in college and they always tell me how college is different. Sometimes work can be harder. Nonetheless on the bright side if you’re not working during college you can wake up later IF you don’t choose a morning class. Please, I am begging you DON’T CHOOSE A MORNING CLASS! You will regret it.
So that’s college but if you’re going into the workforce that’s a different story. For the workforce you would have to work a full day from 9-5. That’s if you get that kind of job if you get lucky and get a more flexible schedule than your good!
Now doing college and working to pay for college? I’m praying for you (I’ll probably be doing that). Working and doing college won’t be easy. Many of my friends have told me it hasn’t been easy but it’s also worth getting the cash for yourself or for student debt. Trade school is different, not really sure how trade school works but I’m pretty sure it’s different. I don’t know much about that. Then there is also the military, not really sure how that works as well but all I know is that you get deployed after high school.
Well folks, that’s what’s in store for us after school ends for us. Even though you may be sad about ending school. Be happy you made it this far. It took 13-14 years to get here! It took many tears, many frustrations, and many breakdowns but it also took courage. It took bravery from not letting go of our parents for school to us driving to school. We have grown from kids to adults so let this be a reminder: you’re doing great!
