Cat Evolution
I love Cat Evolution. It is a mobile game that I used to play a lot as a kid, and I recently rediscovered it. I have been merging these cats for the past week to create new types. For each new cat you discover, it gives you a brief description of the cat and why its appearance looks like that. I love these silly descriptions because they are very unserious and make the game all the more fun. The only downside to this game is that it does have quite a lot of ads. Although it has a lot of ads, unlike other mobile games, they reward you for watching the ads (that they force you to watch). I like this game a lot because of its visuals as well. The art style is very cute and the sound effects are nice as well. Overall, this game is very fun to play and I believe you should download it. – Sasha Lapayeva
The Creeps/Creep! 2
I first heard about this mobile game from a music website, and the writer talked about how obsessed he had become with it. So I downloaded it and became equally obsessed. The first version from 16 years ago is a tower defense game in which you placed weapons along a path to prevent monsters from getting from a closet door portal to a kid in bed. Weird now that I type that sentence out, but it was fun. The sounds were comical, and some of the levels took me weeks to figure out/survive. The newer version (still about 10 years old) sets you against more monsters who now want to get a plate of cookies. I recently passed World Three, Level 19 after over a month of trying. Anyway, I find it’s a good way to pass 5-15 minutes of time while waiting for life to pass me by. But if it tries, I will know how to build defenses to stop it! – Fred Avett

I Hate Cowboys and All Dogs Go To Hell by Chase Rice
I Hate Cowboys and All Dogs Go to Hell (IHC+ADGTH) is an album from country artist Chase Rice, and it’s amazing. Before this album came out, my opinion about Chase Rice was very low. Before this album, all of his music played into the stereotypes that country music gets hate for, simply because that was what got played on the radio. However, IHC+ADGTH is wildly different that Chase’s first three albums. You would have thought that it was a different guy singing and writing the songs. While the name of the album may sound random and somewhat creepy, it’s actually the name of two songs on the album that are arguably the best. “I Hate Cowboys” is a unique take on a breakup. While “All Dogs Go to Hell” may sound like a song about how much Chase hates animals, it’s actually very lyrically clever, and my favorite song on the album, but I’m going to make you listen to the song yourself to understand the meaning behind the title. Aside from the title tracks, the album has other hits like “If I Were Rock and Roll” (there’s an album version and a single version, the single version is much better). Another song is “Bench Seat”, which is another song about a dog that almost made me break down crying in the middle of class when I heard the last line of the song (No, the dog doesn’t die). There’s plenty more great songs on the album, and it was one of my favorite albums of last year. Go stream it on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Youtube Music – Maven Bolick
WATCHES
Prince of Darkness by John Carpenter
Prince of Darkness is a part of John Carpenter’s “Apocalypse Trilogy.” Imagine “Signs” if it were set at a church. Professor Birack and a priest work together examining a mysterious green casket, and Professor Birack invites his students to work with them at an abandoned church to uncover the mystery. Strange events occur including the gathering of bugs like ants as well as a crowd watching the church. One problem I had with the movie was there were a lot of characters which made the movie slightly confusing at the beginning. However, it allowed for several unique character deaths in the later acts. Two themes of the movie were the failures of religion, and, like in signs, faith in things without trying to justify it with ‘common sense.’ All in all, I really enjoyed this movie, ranking it second only to “The Ritual,” and I would readily recommend it to anyone who likes horror movies. – Jackson Lee
Not Wonderland: Alice in Borderland
Not as well known as Alice in Wonderland right? Nope, this Japanese thriller has captivated viewers worldwide. After watching this, I was personally enthralled by the themes of high-stakes survival that this show presented. Each character has a unique touch to them that allows you to connect with them, no matter your personality. However, what really sets this show apart from the regular TV shows I watch is not just intense action—it’s the show’s ability to explore human nature and pressure. Comprised of two seasons, I believe it deserves all the hype and more. Anyone seeking a thrill should give it a watch. – Tommy Liang
Air Buddies
Growing up, one of my favorite things to do was re-watch movies. I was not fond of watching new movies, so I had specific movie series that I knew every movie too, and liked to re-watch. I recently rediscovered one of my favorite series, Air Buddies. These movies followed the Gold Retriever kids of the dog Air Bud, who had the ability to play every sport in his own movies, Air Bud (series). With Halloween coming up I feel the need to re-watch the Halloween movie, Spooky Buddies, which will probably lead me to watch the other movies from the series. I think re-watching these movies will be fun and nostalgic, and I think everyone should re-watch their favorite childhood movies every now and then. – Noa Zilber
EATS
Cheez-It’s
It may be basic, but I love Cheez-it’s. Whether I’m on a road trip or trying to not scream at someone in my insane lit/comp class, Cheez-It’s are my go-to snack. The Grooves, the Snap’d ones, the good ol’ original ones, the pepper jack ones, and the white cheddar ones are my top picks. I’m not even some Cheez-It connoisseur, but I feel like no matter what’s going on, Cheez-Its soothe my soul and just make every situation better. The cheesiness, the crispiness, the salt on top, it’s all so intentional and so perfect. Cheez-It’s are my emotional support snack. – Ellie Owens
Apples as anything!
Apple sauce is one of the sweetest things out there. You can get it at any grocery store and from so many different brands. There is sweetened or unsweetened, and they are all just the best. There are also so many types of apples that can be turned into sauce. The mini apples are the best. Apples are one of the healthiest fruits out there, and you can eat them as a sauce? What could be better than that? Apples can also be turned into juice! Apples can basically be anything you want and from anywhere. Apples are so good in any form and have no bad cons. I love the juice, the sauce, and just whole apples. I recommend apples because one a day keeps the doctor away. – Rowan Schreiber
