Today, I was sitting at a table, sipping my Matevanna Latte, with my Chromebook in front of me and a blank document on the screen. Around me, I heard delightful chatter from my four friends who decided to join me and lock in at work. I’d been fairly productive so far; other than this one opinion editorial that I have due Thursday. It’s always difficult to figure out what to write about; however, after eating a delicious egg bake and while drinking a lovely tea latte, the decision became clear. I decided to write about my favorite coffee shop in Dunwoody: Ark Coffeehaus.
Ark Coffeehaus is located right off of Peachtree Industrial, in a tucked-in corner by my neighborhood. It has a calming atmosphere with soothing music playing, the perfect place to crank out a last-minute writing assignment. They’re also very accommodating to large groups with a ginormous table that seats eight people in the back of the shop.
The staff are always so kind whenever I come. The shop is owned by Priscilla, an expert in tea making who lives on a farm outside of Atlanta. Her brother works the coffee machine and is always coming up with new concoctions that they feature on their monthly board of seasonal drinks. They offer free wifi (which is how I am writing this currently) and outlets to plug in all your devices.
In the corner of the shop, there is a small area where you can buy lots of goods that are all-natural and sustainable including nail polishes and soothing-smelling candles. Plus, they have lots of different teas for purchase that are absolutely delicious. My favorite is Matevanna, a blend created by Priscilla that has notes of chocolate. It’s absolutely delicious. Did I mention that it’s absolutely delicious? They also have adorable little pins at the counter for all your many pin-related needs. Sophie got a pin of the little blue car from cars, Guido, and a picture of a cell that said “cell-phie.” Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s fun to tour their little shopping area and smell the yummy teas and candles.
All in all, Ark Coffeehaus is just the perfect place to get a bite with friends and crank out homework; especially on a school day off. It offers delicious food and drinks, a soothing atmosphere, and entertaining items to ponder over during one of your many study breaks.
