Kameron Marlowe

Kameron Marlowe is one of my favorite artists of all time, despite the fact that he hasn’t gotten much recognition in the country music industry. His first big hit was “Giving You Up” in 2019, which is my go-to answer when people ask for a song to get into country music. Marlowe’s debut album from 2022 “We Were Cowboys” is also filled with great songs like “Girl On Fire”, “Country Boy’s Prayer”, and “Over Now”. His second album “Keepin’ The Lights On” features slower and more emotional songs like “Never Really Know” and “Quit You”, songs that reflect his old style like “I Can Run” and “Tennessee Don’t Mind”, and “Strangers”, a duet with country music newcomer Ella Langley. Kameron Marlowe is the perfect balance between country and soft rock, so fans of either genre should listen to him on Spotify here. – Maven Bolick

Japanese Shoegaze

Last night, I was hanging out with one of my friends, and we were watching music videos we found on YouTube. While we started off with Title Fight, we proceeded to go into a deep spiral of rather unknown Japanese shoegaze bands. Most of the videos we found were quite old, some being 14-17 years old. What we found were the most heavenly songs I’ve heard. It was like I had found a whole new part of life. I love finding new music, and finding a whole new genre to discover is my dream. Some of the bands we listened to were CONDOR44, Honeydip, Dog Hair Dressers, and Toe. Most of these bands have barely any recognition, other than Honeydip, even though they have made some of the best music I’ve ever listened to. My personal favorite song out of these bands is Board Game by Dog Hair Dressers. It is such a beautiful melody with such a cool music video on YouTube. Overall, I love all of these bands and I am so glad I found them. – Sasha Lapayeva

2025 Boygenius Comeback

The band Boygenius released their first EP in 2018 before going on hiatus. The band’s members, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus, used this time to work on other projects and their solo careers. In 2023, they got back together and released an album called The Record. After the 2024 Grammys, the band announced they were going back on hiatus to focus on their solo careers. For the rest of 2024, the band members remained relatively inactive apart from features on other artists’ songs. However, 2025 is looking to be a promising year for Boygenius fans, with Baker and Dacus announcing albums releasing in early 2025. – Noa Zilber

2000’s Music 

Recently, my musical interests have once again gone towards Brittany Spears and Katy Perry, and it’s been wonderful. 2000’s music harkens back to a time when I could listen to a catchy song and be brought away from the world more than current music always does for me. It’s upbeat, good to listen to with friends since everyone will know the lyrics, and it really helps with escapism. All in all, it’s a great genre to dive into if you haven’t for a while and need some time to be away from it all. – Maren Merkel

Honey Butter Chips

This past week, I have been eating a lot of honey butter chips from the Korean brand Haitai. These are some of the best chips I have ever eaten. It is a sweet and salty snack that first tastes like sweet butter, and then a potato chip. The brand does an amazing job at making the chips taste good with the honey butter flavor. Last time I went to the store, I bought a bunch of these chips in bulk because I go through them so fast. I’ve been having them with every meal because they are so tasty. I would highly recommend these chips because they are just so amazing. They are available at H-Mart and the Buford Highway Farmers Market. – Juliet Gonzalez

Seaweed

One super delicious snack I’ve taken up recently is seaweed. It’s seriously delicious and cheap to buy in bulk as well. I’ve used it with some rice and tuna packets to make a nice meal, I’ve also just eaten the seaweed plain out of the package. I’ve even used it as an easy healthy treat for my dog before. At Costco, you can buy packages of seaweed in bulk at a really cheap price, and it could last for months so long as you don’t eat a package every waking second. There’s also different flavors of seaweed available in stores. You can buy the standard flavor that just has a little salt, you can buy kimchi flavored seaweed, and I’ve even seen soy sauce flavored seaweed before. Regardless, this is super delicious, you can find packets of it at most stores you go to now. – Miles Forshay

Tuna Packets

A tuna packet is a simple, easy item to take to lunch. Since it doesn’t need to be refrigerated, you can even prepare it the day before. Also, they are relatively cheap as well. In terms of nutrition, they are high in protein as well. Another thing is that you can pair a number of other foods with tuna packets like bread or seaweed. Though some tuna packets are flavored in different ways, I believe the best flavor is the original plain tuna. I have these two times a week and I would have them more if they were not a source of Mercury. – Jackson Lee

Naked Smoothies

I used to never eat breakfast because I didn’t have time and I felt sort of nauseous in the mornings. But ever since I tried the strawberry banana Naked smoothie I have had one almost every day. They are so healthy for you because it is all-natural and there are no added sugars. It provides 920 mg of potassium in one bottle and it genuinely tastes really good. The smoothies are 15 fl oz and very filling–they usually hold me until lunch. If you don’t love strawberries and bananas that’s okay because there are many more flavors to choose from. They have Mixed Berry, Mighty Mango, Rainbow Machine, Green Machine, and many more.If you don’t like to eat breakfast or don’t have time I highly suggest trying a naked smoothie next time! – Kira Lawson

For the past three weeks, I have been working in a high-paced environment. Wings and Burger Factory. I have never entered a store/restaurant with such a bold yellow wall. As I searched for a job, so that I could get that bag, I stumbled upon this store. I got hired and started working the next day. This job has given me new insight on how people act towards those who serve them. But I have gotten much knowledge from my managers. Besides the work itself, the food– bomb. It is very tasteful and well-prepared. I have no complaints. So if you are hungry after a long hard-working day at school, take a stroll to Chamblee Plaza, in between Crunch and Publix, there stands the ultimate wings and burger store, Wings and Burger Factory. – Teresita Trujillo

Mike and Ikes

I’m not typically a candy person, however, some types of candy I just can’t resist. One of them would be Mike and Ikes. After watching my favorite gamer Khanada sponsor them, I thought thatI would give this candy a try. Most flavors of candy get dull and boring after a while of eating them, especially if it’s the same type. The way that when you bite into it, it still gives resistance, but isn’t like chopping on hard candy. The way that it isn’t too sweet but just sugary enough to make you still want to eat more. Lastly, the different types of flavor are all clearly felt, because sometimes in other candies, you do not feel and distinctness in flavoring. If you got some time, you should try some Mike and Ikes.  – Tommy Liang

Cheez Its 

I recently have found a new love for Cheez Its. I eat them at home, at school, and every time I get the chance to. I finally bought them from the store, and they are just so good. So many flavors and so many options! I love the original, but white cheddar cheez-its are so good they are my favorite. I recently realized that they are one hundred percent real cheese, and they taste so good. I recommend trying different flavors and trying all of them because you might find a new love for them too. I get mine at Publix but they sell them everywhere. I recommend! – Rowan Schreiber

Making my bed

I have recently started making my bed right when I wake up every morning and I hope to continue this forever. I love making my bed because it makes my room look more put together and it gives me a sense of accomplishment in the morning. Making my bed takes only 5 minutes and somehow gives me a better sense of confidence throughout the say which leads to more productivity throughout my day. In addition, making my bed prevents me from laying in my bed later in the day in order to keep it looking pristine. This is positive because it keeps me from being lazy and I become more motivated to do homework. – Anna Kate Flood

Daily Vlogs With My Friends

For the past few months, my friend who goes to private school and I have been sending each other video life updates over text at the beginning and end of every day. I didn’t think it would help us get as close as we are now when we started, but it has become one of my favorite daily habits and has helped the two of us get so much closer. I have used Marco Polo in the past to make these videos, but sending the videos via text has stuck more than on Marco Polo. Even if you go to school with someone, I think we can all admit it’s hard to keep up with people through the hustle and bustle, so these simple and honest vlogs have helped me get closer to my friends from private school, camp, and friends I just don’t see on the daily at school! – Ellie Owens

The Games on LinkedIn

I made my LinkedIn profile accidentally because I was trying to stalk my brother’s profile; however, this pointless app has evolved to be one of my favorite activities on my phone. There are four lovely and mentally challenging games that appear on my page every day that I now play religiously. Now, hopping on LinkedIn to play my favorite games has become an essential part of my morning routine. I would recommend going on LinkedIn for any smart person who loves a good smart person game. Stalking your friends’ parents on the app is just an added bonus!  – Finley Malone

Ice Skating

This past Saturday, I went ice skating for the first time and it was really fun. A couple of friends and I went to Center Ice and none of us had been ice skating before. I caught on almost immediately, but the rest of my friends did not… It was pretty overwhelming at first because of how many people there who were amazing at skating. Some dude was speed skating and would fly past me while I was holding onto the wall for dear life. I’m really looking forward to the next time we go because I’ve got it down. Magic Puzzle Company

I’m not really a puzzle guy, but I do enjoy putting them together a couple of times a year. When a new puzzle gets opened (or we borrow one from a friend) I will work at it almost non-stop until it’s done. I prefer 500-piece puzzles, but will do 1,000-piece ones if the image being assembled is compelling. And the most compelling puzzles I have ever undertaken come from the Magic Puzzle Company. We got one on a whim a few years back and loved it, and got another one this past holiday season and it was equally enthralling. Spoiler alert: when you complete the puzzle, you can actually move sections of it around to form a new image with a gap in the middle that is then filled in by a new puzzle in a separate envelope to complete the story. This cool feature means that there are edge pieces that go around the edge of the puzzle, but also edge pieces laced throughout. Complicated! Plus a few dozen pieces are shaped like skulls, keys, animals, and other non-traditional puzzle shapes. Highly recommend! – Fred Avett
