Chamblee High’s starting fullback, Frank Epps, hopes to play a strong role this season in his first year as a starter for the varsity team. Even though his stats are not fantastic, he is an integral part of the offense.
Epps does not get a massive amount of carries per game, but he provides critical lead blocks for the offense.
“In order for our triple offense to be successful,” said head coach Mike Collins, “we need to establish a good running game, and Frank Epps is the first phase.”
Epps has been playing football for ten years. He played for Junior Varsity the last two seasons. His parents influenced him to begin playing when he was in only the first grade.
“My parents got me to play when I was six,” said Epps.
Epps is a laid-back junior who enjoys listening to hip hop and R&B music as well as playing video games in his spare time. Some of his favorite movies include 300 and Friday Night Lights. He also leads a very active lifestyle.
“I enjoy swimming and running,” said Epps, “anything to keep my blood flowing.”
