In a move that will go down in history as the most elaborate and complex senior prank ever, the class of 2024 at Chamblee High School successfully placed the entire school building on wheels and drove it around the city of Atlanta for an entire day.
The seniors wanted to leave a mark for everyone to remember the class of 2024 by.
“We wanted to leave a lasting legacy,” said Suzy Marks (‘24), senior class president. “And what’s more lasting than moving the entire school?”
Some school administrators were left in shock, scratching their heads as they watched the school drive by on their way to work there.
“I was in a meeting with the superintendent, when suddenly, the floor started moving,” said Principal John Keems. “I thought it was an earthquake at first, but then I saw and felt the school moving.”
Both students and teachers were shocked and amazed by the prank.
“I was in the middle of a lesson when all the desks started rumbling and moving,” said Mark Evans (‘25). “It was something out of a movie—I mean, I’ve seen pranks before, but this one was extreme. Next level stuff.”
Seniors say this was the experience of a lifetime, and the best senior prank ever.
“Hands down one of the most fun times I’ve had in school. This has to be the best senior prank ever,” said Maddie Brown (‘26).
This prank even caught the eye of the national news stations, including CNN and NBC.
“We’re just glad no one got hurt,” said CNN reporter Kate Lipton. “Although, we do have many questions about how they managed to get this whole school building on wheels without anyone noticing,”
The seniors remain tight lipped about how they pulled off the prank, but sources close to the class say it involved a lot of planning, some complicated engineering, and a few bribes to the local authorities.
“Let’s just say we have some…help,” said Luke Myers (‘24). “And by ‘help’, I mean, we may or may not have hired professional engineers to make this happen, but, you know, that’s just speculation.”
DeKalb officials are unsure how to return to the school to Chamblee-Dunwoody Road since the senior class parked the building in Fulton County.
“I mean, technically, it is out of our jurisdiction now,” said DeKalb Superintendent of the Month Monty Cristo. “We might just cut our losses and build a new shopping center. Those are way more profitable than schools. On the other hand, the building is tying up traffic on I-75 pretty badly…”
