I’ve mentioned in my New Personality Suggestions that winter is my favorite season and, in my opinion, is the best season. As you likely know, it is now March, which brings winter to a close. I’m pretty upset about this change, and honestly, I’m debating whether or not to move up north to stay in my little winter wonderland.
I love the cold, period. It gets so unbearably hot here in Atlanta that when fall comes around, it’s like welcoming in an old friend you haven’t seen in years. If you know me personally, you know I like to dress the best for every occasion, which 99.99% of the time will involve cargo pants in some shape or form. I’m pretty willing to bargain looks over comfort, but unfortunately for me, wearing cargos in 99° weather might melt me into a little puddle.
I’ve mentioned in an issue of New Personality Suggestions in great detail about how much I love sleeping during winter. My room is comparable to a refrigerator as it has to be cold in my room at all times. Seriously, I haven’t turned off my fan in years. Sleeping as cold as I can just feels right, and I can’t do that in summer like I can in winter.
A lot of people hate how early it gets dark in winter. I am not people. For some reason, I just feel so much more at home when it’s dark outside. I work better, I think better, it’s just like I was meant to be a raccoon or something.
I feel so at home when it’s cold out. I don’t get cold. There could be a blizzard raging outside and I’d be perfectly fine in a polo. My inner cave man must activate whenever it gets under 60° because it’s like some primal instinct to enjoy the cold switches on. I just love the crisp chill in the air and how it feels on my skin. I love when I can see my breath as I exhale. I know it’s vague, but I really can’t describe it better than just saying it’s a vibe.
Unfortunately, I’m a victim of atlantagetszerosnowitis. However, this year we got snow three times, which was very welcome. I’ve always loved snow. If there’s snow, it’s freezing out. If it’s freezing out, I’m at home.
Overall, I’m gonna miss winter. I hate the pollen in spring, and the bugs and heat of summer. Fall can’t get here soon enough.
