Chamblee Gymnastics Crash County

From April 2008:

The Chamblee gymnastics team finally has a major result to validate their growth this season. The Lady Bulldogs finished third out of 11 teams in the county meet. In addition, Chamblee was just three points off second-place-finishing Tucker. Unfortunately, it would take an almost perfect performance for any gymnasts to make it to state. Any given Chamblee gymnast would need a score of 9.5 or better in the state qualifying tournament on April 26th to make the cut.
Despite this fact, the Bulldogs have overcome a lack of equipment to have a highly successful season.
Much of the triumph must be attributed to head coach Terri Lake.
“Without Coach Lake, we’d still be in the same place,” said junior Shari McIntosh. “She made a big contribution to where we are this year.”
Looking ahead, Chamblee will return two club gymnasts, Lindsey Ball and Mariel Mariney, next year. The team will also return some rapidly improving gymnasts such as Brittany Frederick.
“She comes every morning to work on her routine with me,” said Lake.
