IPad kids have been receiving enormous amounts of hate, ironically online, but for what reason? If you don’t already know, iPad kids are children who get excessive amounts of screen time according to Parents. I am not promoting an excessive amount of screen time; however, this screen time could be put to good use.
Have you noticed a four-year-old child using the TV like a pro? Or students fixing technology for teachers? This is all due to being an iPad kid. Most iPad kids have a better grasp on the technological side of the world, opening them up to more opportunities in their near future. The world is becoming more technologically advanced with the iPhone 17 having come out on September 19, 2025. Once COVID-19 spread across the world, everything became online to spread as few germs as possible. Menus in many restaurants became a QR code, virtual days in public schools have become more and more popular, and even homework in in-person classes are, for the most part, online. Having kids understand and use technology from an early age allows them to navigate adult and teen life easier and more efficiently.
Additionally, iPads are super fun! The entire world is essentially in the palm of your hands, but everyone chooses to play Roblox instead. I originally became an iPad kid during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to stay in our houses, and this was during the prime-time of fifth grade for me. So, as any fifth grader would do, I joined Roblox so that I could connect with my friends. I played ALL THE TIME during Covid since there was nothing better to do. Some of my favorites at the time were: Royale High, Adopt Me, Hide and Seek Extreme, Brookhaven, and Work at a Pizza Place. My current favorites are: Dress to Impress, Bloxburg, and Total Roblox Drama. I 100% recommend any of the games listed above, and encourage you to play them all!
Of course, with an online presence, there should be proper guidelines. Personally, I was not able to chat with anyone on online websites and my parents also implemented strict screen limits. This looks different for each family and person, but please be responsible online. So, to put it all together, don’t spend too much time online–you need to go touch grass!
IPad kids are the next generation, and they are simply preparing for their future by using their online resources. They deserve as much respect as those who are not chronically online, and I am proud to say that I am an iPad kid!
