Alex Warren is an American singer who specializes in folk-pop, stomp and holler, and country music. He blew up over the summer for his song “Ordinary,” and has since accrued millions of fans across all platforms. With more than 4 million subscribers on Youtube and around 52 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Warren has become one of the largest artists in the world out of what seems like nowhere. This has led to the assumption that he is a “one-hit wonder.” While none of his songs have gotten close to the popularity of his song “Ordinary” (it spent 10 weeks at the top of Billboard Hot 100, while fighting Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and “Golden” from KPOP Demon Hunters), the following tracks prove why the term “one hit wonder” does not apply to him.
CARRY YOU HOME
Easily his most popular song other than “Ordinary,” “Carry You Home” has over 561 million streams as of 10/27/25. The track is the embodiment of stomp and holler and shows the best side of this genre. The upbeat tempo of the piece combined with the relatable lyrics deviates from Warren’s more common theme of loneliness and wanting love, and shifts towards ideas of hope.
BEFORE YOU LEAVE ME
My personal favorite, “Before You Leave Me,” is the perfect embodiment of the artist’s style. With an upbeat, country tone, this song talks about regret and missing a loved one. With almost 391 million listens on Spotify, the song was one of Warren’s first hits, and garnered much attention online. The ballad remains danceable throughout, and the storytelling makes the listener feel those emotions.
ETERNITY
The first track on You’ll Be Alright, Kid, “Eternity” was the most hyped song of the new release, with Warren promoting it with short clips on social media. “Eternity” peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 100 and is considered the best song of disc one on the new album. The shiftiness of the song makes it an extremely fun piece to listen to. From starting at low pitch and getting higher, to speeding up and slowing down, “Eternity” has it all. Currently Warren’s second-most popular song, it shows the versatility of Alex Warren’s music.
BLOODLINE (FT. JELLY ROLL)
Alex Warren’s most well-known collaboration, “Bloodline,” showcases the country aspect of Warren’s music. This genre is well suited to Warren, since he already has a Gospel sound, but the vocal accents from Jelly Roll make this song special. Peaking at number 32 on the Billboard 100, “Bloodline” rounds out Warren’s skill set and makes him appealing to multiple different types of audiences.
